My name is Ally Walker and I am the director and principal teacher here at AWDA, I am incredibly proud of this school and all my students past and present. We opened our doors in 2006 and since this time I have had the privilege of introducing the world of dance to over 1300 hundred students throughout the South Burnett Region. I have had a blast bringing a range of opportunities to my students including Adopt a Ballerina with QLD Ballet, numerous bus trips to the ballet, D.O.D Hip hop workshops, guest teachers, QPAC performances and so much more. I love my job and this school and invite you to join in the fun here at AWDA!!!!
ABOUT MISS ALLY
Miss Ally started dancing at the age of 7 years at the Amanda Norcott Academy of Dance in Kingaroy. As her training progressed a young Ally completed all her RAD examinations from RAD 1 through to Advance Foundation, all her CSTD Tap examinations, and Jazz Exams. After high school Ally finalized her examinations and completed her Certificate Ballet Teacher Studies (RAD) and Jazz Award (CSTD) and Theatrical Teachers Certificate under friend and mentor Susan Mollenhauer from the Susan Dowdle School of Dance in Murgon. Miss Ally continues to grow as a teacher and instructor gaining qualifications as a CSTD contemporary teacher and Acrobatics Arts Certified Instructor.
ABOUT MISS SABINA
Miss Sabina started at in Kingaroy with and dance with Miss Shannon's Dance Stars. In 2006 Miss Sabina enrolled with AWDA and started her Modern Jazz Exam Journey. Whilst completing these exams Miss Sabina also trained in contemporary, ballet, en pointe and much more. Miss Sabina became the Hip Hop teacher for AWDA in 2010 and has been a loved and respected teacher with the AWDA. Miss Sabina continues to grow in her and qualifications she is now Arts Certified Instructor and is attending dance

We offer ballet examinations in the world-renowned R.A.D "Royal Academy of Dance" Syllabus.
This fantastic syllabus allows students to excel in their classical technique whilst being encouraged to explore their love of ballet. Students as young as 5 years of age can commence studying these exams. Students who undertake these examination classes will be required to attend 2 ballet classes each and every week.

This syllabus caters for candidates from 4 years upwards & has been created by Gwen Mackey OAM. Set work includes a collection of barre & exercises in a variety of rhythms which are graded to assist the student in developing a strong technique & rhythmical accuracy. Own choice dances allow the teacher & student to create challenging pieces according to the level of each individual.
We offer the exclusive “Jason Winters Contemporary Technique”, a world-class and comprehensive Contemporary Dance syllabus. Its technique and structure is designed in the most classical and academic way and infused with choreographic electricity used in today’s most commercial settings.
Throughout foundation is laid for a strong, focused and fluid contemporary dancer with building blocks in Graham, Cunningham, Jazz, Classical, Yoga and Pilates, and Jason Winters own circular sense of movement.
This syllabus truly creates the platform and provides the path for the evolution of Contemporary Dance for the future. Students can commence 12 years of age.
